Little America Weekend

Jeff & I were talking on Thursday & decided we needed a little weekend getaway. So I talked to my parents & they agreed to watch the girls for us.
Jeff was able to get off work a little early on Friday and we took the girls up to my parents' house & headed up to Salt Lake to stay at the Little America Hotel.
This was our room.

And the view from our balcony.

With the package we did we got a $60 dining credit to eat in any of the restaurants at the hotel. For dinner we ate at the Sports Bar. It was a pretty fancy Sports Bar. Jeff said he felt out of place.
After we ate we drove over to the Gateway Mall & did a little shopping. It was nice to just walk around and take our time. It was a really beautiful night.
When we were finished there we went back to the hotel & sat in the hot tub. It was packed.

Here's Jeff relaxing in his robe after we got back from the hot tub.

I didn't sleep as well that night as I thought I would. I woke up a few times thinking I needed to check the babies.

In the morning we ate at the Breakfast Buffet. Oh my. It was delicious! They had every breakfast food you could want. Pastries & muffins...my favorite! And Jeff was in heaven with as much bacon as he could ever want. There was an omelet station and while Jeff was waiting for his omelet to be made a lady came up next to him & the girl making the omelets was admiring her scarf. The lady took it off, handed it to her & said, "Here you can have it. I got it in New York but I go there all the time so I can easily get another one."
How cool is that?! I want to be able to do things like that one day! :)

After breakfast, we walked around some of the little shops in the hotel, then went back up to our room & relaxed for a little bit before we needed to get packed up & check out. It was just a short little getaway but totally worth it.

Matthew Plays Basketball

We were finally able to make it to one of Matthew's basketball games last week. I've wanted to go for a long time but the game was too late for the girls or something always came up.
Jeff & Morley had been to a game before so as we were walking in I asked Jeff, "Is this where we go in?" And he said, "Yeah." And then Wrigs said, "YEAH!" So funny :)

Here are some pictures from the game...

The girls didn't want to sit still for one minute. Big surprise.
Mostly they wanted to dive right off the bleachers so we had to keep a good eye on them. Wrigley was walking around and slipped and hit the back of her head pretty hard on one of the benches. She got a big bump :(

Unfortunately, Matthew's team lost.
My mom told Jeff he should coach their team next year.
Clearly, she's not a big fan of his current coach.

Happy President's Day

We have had such a fun day today!
Melinda & Kelti came with me to get the girls' pictures taken in Salt Lake this morning. It was so fun. As soon as the photographer sat Wrigley on the chair & brought the camera out she was all smiles and posing like crazy. It was so funny. I think she got a few cute shots of Morley but she was being a little shy today, which was kind of weird. She usually is the one with the big cheesers when I am taking pictures of her. I can't wait to see the pictures.
We hung out at my parents' house for a little bit & Melinda shared her chocolate with Morley. :)

Then we decided to go bowling with my family.
Good news...I didn't lose this time. I beat Matthew by 1 point!
The girls had fun exploring the entire place.
They just don't EVER hold still anymore.

Wrigley had fun practicing her walking skills :)
P.S. She walks now! All over the place. She's been walking for a couple weeks here & there but still preferred crawling. The last couple days she has decided she prefers walking and rarely crawls anymore. I just can't believe how big my babies are getting.

Tonight the girls & I were able to go to Jeff's basketball game. It was the first one we've been to this season because they have all been at 9:00 pm.
This game was a playoff game and started at 7:30.
I didn't get any pictures. I was busy trying to keep 2 babies from falling down the bleachers.
Paul's girlfriend, Jamie, was so great & helped so much with the girls!
They lost the game so the season is over now. I'm glad we were able to make it to at least one game.

Family Valentine's Day Dinner

On Wednesday night we went to my parents' house for our Family Valentine Dinner.

My mom always puts a little gift on each person's plate.
Wrigley & Morley got some more books. :)
I remember loving these two books as a little girl.

After dinner we all hung out in the family room & just enjoyed each others' company.
And were of course kept very entertained by two little goofballs. :)

Melinda helped the girls discover my Mom's red chair & they pretty much thought it was the funnest thing ever. They played on there for a really long time.

Last night Jeff & I had our Valentine's date. We went to dinner & then to see  The Vow
I liked it last night but today I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was kind of annoying & frustrating at times and super sad   (I cried a lot) but it ended okay.

Happy Valentine's Day

I tried so hard to get a good picture of the girls in their cute Valentine outfits.

They wouldn't keep their bracelets on.
Morley didn't want to stand up.
Wrigley wanted to walk to me every time I stood her up.

I gave up & tried again later at my parents' house with the help of Maggie & my mom.

It didn't go much better. They were too distracted by EVERYTHING.
They are sure busy busy busy. But I love it.

Our Valentine's Day didn't go quite as planned but it was still a good day. Melinda was done with school at noon so she & the girls & I went shopping for a couple hours. My mom has a Valentine's Day dinner every year for the family so those were our plans for that night. But while we were shopping my mom called & said we would have to put it off until the next night because Matthew had to go have a CT scan that evening.
He was playing basketball at lunch and some kid was messing around & did a front handspring with the basketball and kicked Matthew right in the face. He got knocked out & got a concussion. It was his second concussion in less than a year, which is why the doctor ordered the CT scan. Also because he doesn't remember any of it. He remembers playing basketball and then the next thing he remembers is standing in the office at the school. Anyway, he had the CT scan & there is no bleeding in his brain. Yay!

Since our Valentine plans were cancelled Jeff & I & the girls went to Costa Vida for dinner.
After we put the girls to bed we watched Moneyball. I liked it. It was a good day.

The girls got a few Valentine's gifts. These cute little stuffed animals & animal books are from Mike. And Jeff & I got them a farm animals puzzle & this stacking toy.

Mike also gave us a box of cupcakes from The Sweet Tooth Fairy! Yum! And he gave me a gift certificate to a spa! :)

Oh! I almost forgot. Our Valentine toes :)
