Fun with Grandpa Scott & Grandma Jill

At the beginning of May, Jeff's parents decided to drive out to see us!
It was kind of a spur of the moment thing which was so fun!
We did a lot of fun things while they were here.
We went to Firehouse for lunch one day.

The girls thought it was pretty great that they got to play on this Firetruck.

We went to City Creek one day for lunch with Great Grandpa & Grandma Sonnenberg.
I think this play area in the food court is like Disneyland for the girls.
I love seeing them have so much fun!

This little slide was their favorite. I think they loved that it was small enough that they could do it all by themselves.

We walked around City Creek and did a little shopping after lunch and Grandpa Scott let the girls put their feet in the fountain :)

Grandpa & Grandma bought them this little pool while they were here and the girls want to play in it every day now that the weather is getting so hot!

We went to Tucano's one day and let the girls run around outside until our table was ready for us.
They are not very fun to take to restaurants anymore. They don't want to sit in the high chair, they would rather be running around. And once we finally get them in the chair, they won't stay very long.

We went swimming at the Legacy Center one day.

What a fun few days we had!!

Flowers

My Aunt Janet was called to serve a Family History mission in Salt Lake City a few months ago.
She moved all her stuff from Tollhouse, California to SLC at the beginning of May.
My Aunt Darlene & cousin, Teri came with her and stayed at my parents' house for a few days.
The girls & I went up to Salt Lake with them one day to "help" move her stuff into her new apartment.
I'm sure you can imagine how much help the 3 of us were ;)
The girls & I played outside while everyone else moved stuff from the cars to her apartment.

Side note, my Grandma Erickson (Janet's mom) was called to this same mission and lived in this same apartment building before she died. Kind of cool.

When everything was moved in, we went inside for a little tour of the apartment and then went over to the Lionhouse Pantry for lunch.
After lunch we were walking around outside the Joseph Smith Memorial building and there were gorgeous flowers everywhere! The girls were so fascinated by them and wanted to touch & "smell" all of them.
We had to tell them repeatedly to be soft to the flowers because they really just wanted to rip all the petals off.
I was actually proud of how well they did being soft though.

 Aren't they the cutest?! :)

Green Smoothies

I've always loved smoothies and a few months ago I started making green smoothies and sharing them with the girls.
I put in....
Spinach
A banana
A carton of yogurt
Some frozen berries
& Milk
Occasionally I put in other fresh fruit also.

The girls LOVE them!
We make them a few times a week now & the girls drink almost the whole thing themselves.

39 again

My mom had a big birthday this year.
50!
Don't tell her I told you.
If you ask her, she'll say 39.
Melinda & I had a big party in the works but my mom said she would disown us if we threw a party.
I don't get it. She asked me if I want a party when I turn 50.
YES. I do.
We ended up just celebrating with the family & had a great time.

My dad got her a nice new bike.

Mckay came to my house earlier in the day & we invented a new kind of cake.
We didn't know how it would turn out but it actually tasted real good.
Can you tell the candles are making a "5" "0"?

Do you think Melinda could make it as a model?

A few days later, Melinda & I (and twins) took my mom to lunch & to get pedicures.
The girls amazed me. They sat so still on our laps the whole time. Honestly, I was a little shocked. I wasn't sure I had the right babies.

Happy birthday Mommy.
I feel so lucky that you are mine!

Arches Trip

Spring Break for my brother & sisters was the week after Easter.
They decided to take a trip down to Arches National Park & invited the girls & I to go with them.
I have lived in Utah my whole life & this was the first time I had ever been there.
We went straight to the park when we got into town and did a few hikes.
It was really warm but soooooo windy.
The girls had the best time playing in the dirt & rocks.
While we were hiking, Wrigs didn't want to be carried. She wanted to walk all on her own but it was taking forever so she had to be carried. She was not a happy little lady.
Morley didn't want anyone to carry her except me so I strapped her to me in the Baby Bjorn.

At the hotel the girls favorite thing to do was pull all the towels off this shelf and put them back on. A million times. It kept them very busy! :)

For dinner that night, my dad, Mckay, Morley & I went to Mi Ranchito while everyone else went to Denny's. This video is of Morley at dinner, having a taste of my Root Beer. It was the very first time she had ever tasted Soda.

We forgot the bring one of our Pack-n-Plays but luckily the hotel had one so Wrigley slept in it & Morley slept in the bed with me.

She is not fun to sleep with. She moves all over the place all night long!

The next morning we got packed up and checked out of the hotel and then went back into Arches for one last hike.
It was a lot colder this day & the girls were hungry, so I stayed with them in the car & fed them while everyone else hiked.
After they ate we got out of the car to explore a little while we waited for everyone to come back.

When my family came back we stopped at the Visitor's Center for some souvenirs and then headed back home.

It was a quick trip but so fun!
