This Week's Project

There was a very lonely section of wall in the living room that I have been wanting to do something with, so I decided to hang some wedding pictures finally. I went to Rod Works (my very favorite store right now) a few weeks ago to get some ideas. This week they were having a fall sale. Any one item you buy is 25% off. So, today I recruited Jeff, my mom, Marsh & Matt to go with me & each buy one item I needed & each get 25% off! YEAH! Anyway, here is the finished product!
I still need to get one more picture for the top right frame, but other than that I think it turned out pretty great!

P.S. If you have never been to Rod Works, you're totally missing out. Go check it out. But just a warning....give yourself some time because you will want to stay there forever.

Babysitting

Aubrey started a new job this week, working nights at a hospital up in Riverton. She had orientation all day yesterday, so I watched Emory (20 months) & Hayden (4 months).
She brought them over at 7:00 am...both awake. They both went back to sleep around 8:30. I showered while they were asleep or I figured I wouldn't get one. I had laid Emory on my bed, & when she woke up she was all wet. She had completely soaked through her diaper & it was all over her & my bed. My sheets needed to be washed anyway :) I figured I better put her in the tub to get her all cleaned up. My next brilliant idea was to put the baby in too. Let me tell you...it's hard to bathe a baby-that can't sit up by herself-without one of those little baby bath things. Bath time didn't last too long :) While I was getting ready, I gave Emory a sheet of stickers & that kept her entertained for a long time. We now have Tigger all over our walls, doors & Jeff's tool box. Then, we ate lunch & ran some errands. That was an adventure. They are both such good kids, but just so busy. Emory is so curious about everything & wants to touch and play with whatever she sees. Just like any normal kid. It was actually pretty funny because she was jabbering away, in her own little language, to everything she touched the whole time we were at the store. By the time the day was over I was completely exhausted! I have a new respect for anyone who has little kids.

Give-a-way

My friend, Erika, is having a contest on her blog Oops, I craft my pants. She's giving away a cute little magnet board. Click here to check it out & enter.

Welcome Back!

My friend, Ashley & her cute little family just moved from Idaho back to Utah a couple weeks ago. So, tonight we had a bbq at Aubrey & Tyler's to celebrate their return :)
We have so much fun when we all get together.
Emory entertained us all, as usual.
She ate all the m&m's off this cookie & then was done.
Jeff & baby Hayden. (I think he's a little baby hungry ;)

Or it could just be me...isn't she cute?! She's such a sweet & happy baby.
Welcome back Ash! We're so excited to have you close again!

Neverland Party

Tonight we went to Saxon's Neverland birthday party. Caitlin put so much work into the party & it turned out so cute! We took Maggie with us & she had a blast.
Some of the kids were dressed up. Saxon was an awesome Peter Pan. He even sprinkled pixie dust on everyone so we could fly :)
Caitlin made this cute cake. Didn't she do such a great job?! It was delicious.

We didn't get to stay to see him open his presents because we had a softball game.
Happy 3rd Birthday Saxon! Thanks for inviting us to your party!

P.S. We won our softball game again! :) Yay!

New Babies

We have baby bearded dragons! I'm not allowed to get attached because they aren't for us to keep. Jeff already sold 2 this morning. But this one is my favorite :)

I named him Mowgli. Look how tiny he is :)

Happy Birthday Saxon!

Saxon turns 3 on Thursday, so last night we went to Brick Oven for a little celebration.
He got a free dinner & ice cream. I wish I would have taken a picture of his face when they all came out to sing "Happy Birthday". He just stared at them.
He is having a Tinkerbell party on Thursday that we are excited to go to!

Our first "W"

We won our softball game tonight. 16 to 14. YEAH!

The Little Things

I've been having a rough week. First of all I have to speak in church next Sunday...so of course I've been nervous about that all week. Second of all I wasn't able to go to California with my family this week. Not that big of a deal...but still bummed. Sometimes I wish I could have stayed a little kid forever. Being a grown up stinks sometimes! Tuesday night a good friend of mine told me he can't be friends with me anymore. I won't go into it, but basically his fiance is jealous of how close of friends he & I used to be. Dumb. I was pretty upset & of course wanted to retaliate...natural reaction right ;) Then, last night I heard a horrible story about someone I care about & a very stupid situation he put himself in. I was sad for him & hurt & disappointed. I am bothered that I used to look up to this person. Anyway, I've spent the morning feeling sorry for myself. But, while I was in the shower this morning I remembered an experience that Jeff & I had when we were flying to Chicago last month. We sat next to an older woman on the plane, who had very little use of her hands. I'm not sure if it was bad arthritis in her hands or what the problem was, but we sat and watched her try to open her bag of peanuts for a minute or so with no success. So, Jeff reached over & ripped the bag down the side so she could get into it. Then we watched some more as she tried to get her fingers into the hole to get to the peanuts. She just couldn't do it. Finally the flight attendant poured her peanuts into a little cup to make it easier for her. I sat there feeling so bad for her. I could tell she felt frustrated & humiliated that she couldn't perform such a small task without help. As I sat there thinking about it, I realized how much I take for granted those small things I've been blessed with. The use of my hands. A healthy body. I made myself a promise that day that I would work on showing more gratitude to my Heavenly Father for the many things He has blessed me with, by the way I live my life. As I was thinking about this experience again, I realized that no matter how much it sucks to lose a friend, or how hard it is to see someone you love making stupid choices, or how much I would have loved to be on vacation this week, I can't let it take my focus off of the things that are truly important. I need to focus on the positive things in my life rather than the negative & I know I will be a happier person overall & it will put me in a place that will help me be a better example to the people around me. If anyone reads this, sorry for my rambling & if it seemed like I was complaining. I don't know if this even makes sense. Sometimes it helps to just get it all out.

Husbandless Weekend

Jeff went to Denver this weekend, so I was on my own. Scary! Especially in the neighborhood we live in. So, Melinda & Jade spent the night Friday night to keep me company. We went to dinner at Costa Vida, went to the mall, then Wal-Mart, & then watched a movie.
Saturday, I went to Lagoon with my family and the Jonathan & Julie family. We had really weird weather Friday & Saturday. Of course the day we chose to go...in the 60's until around 3 when it warmed up a little. Still a blast!

Benji was being such a little goofball all day. He kept us all laughing.

He was imitating faces we made at him.

Every time he heard music he started dancing.

These are some of the rides we went on...
The Spider:

Flying Aces:

Bumper Cars:

The Samurai:

The Rocket:

Ferris Wheel:

This dragonfly sat on my dad's hat for like an hour.

It was a super fun weekend, but I missed my honey!

What do you think?!

Game 2

We lost again last night. 15 to 5. We have an excuse this time though...we were missing 3 of our main players. At least we still have fun playing :)

Happy Birthday Bridger!

Bridger turned 1 on July 31st, but they were out of town, so his party was tonight. Jeff wasn't able to make it because he was working, so I went with Mike & Mandy.

We ate pizza, cake & ice cream & all the kids got to go swimming.
This is Bridger's own little Superman cake. He dove right in.

He was such a sweetheart & even shared a bite with Mandy :)

This was the cake that Caitlin made for the rest of us to eat. Isn't it cool?! It tasted good too. Like Froot Loops!
Thanks for inviting us to your party, Bridger! :)

Callings

Jeff & I got a calling at church on Sunday. We get to be nursery leaders :) YEAH! We're so excited!
