Christmas Card & Letter 2012

Family & Friends,

It’s hard to believe 2012 has almost come to an end.  In 3 short months our babies will be two years old. Where does the time go?
The girls have grown and changed so much this year. They are talking like crazy & it is so fun to hear the new things they say every day. They are so fun right now. Their favorite thing to do lately is play hide & seek. It is hilarious to watch. We throw a blanket over them & as soon as they get out they will run to find us. When it is their turn to hide, they hide under the kitchen table every single time. And if it’s taking too long for us to “find” them they start giggling and pop out and shout, “Boo!” It’s hard to remember what our life was like before these two. They bring us so much joy!
Morley is hard to put into words. She has got a spitfire personality. She is a very independent little girl. She wants to do everything on her own and if things aren’t done her way, she throws a little fit. Her defiance is my challenge lately. She will look me in the eyes and do whatever it is I asked her not to do. She must have been given to me to teach me patience. She is also such a little sweetheart when she wants to be. She has a sensitive little heart and already we can see how much she cares for others. She gets so worried whenever anyone is sad or upset, no matter where we are or who it is. I love that about her. The girl has got so much energy. I don’t think she ever stops moving. She’s also dainty and very girly. She loves to dress up and have her hair done. And you should see the excitement when I ask if she wants her nails painted! Morley is such a polite little lady. She says, “Thank you!” when anyone does anything for her. And if we don’t say, “you’re welcome” fast enough, she’ll say it herself.
Wrigley has got such a goofy personality. She loves to be the center of attention and loves to make people laugh. She is very expressive (and sometimes very dramatic) and always keeps us laughing with the faces she makes & things she says & does. She is very sensitive and does not like to be told no. She will throw her hand over her mouth and burst into tears when we discipline her in any way. She loves her sister so so much and is always thinking of her and looking out for her. I love that and hope they will always be best friends. For the most part, she is a very helpful and obedient little girl. Wrigley is also my little cuddler. She’ll stop in the middle of playing to come give me a hug or just sit on my lap for a minute. Those are some of my favorite parts of the day. This girl has an obsession with shoes and clothes lately. She has just learned how to take her clothes off & put new ones on. I find her with different things on (or nothing on) all day long.
Jeff is still working for a reptile breeder in Spanish Fork & is loving it. He also has a little side business doing basically the same thing on his own. He is the main supplier for a few of the big pet stores around here. I’m not a big fan of reptiles but I’m glad he loves what he’s doing. He got called as the Cub Master in our ward a few months ago and is also loving that. And the boys love him!
I am still home with the girls & loving every second of it. I took a few classes this year that were needed to apply for nursing school & then applied this fall and got accepted to the program starting in January. I have wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember and am beyond excited to finally be doing it!
We are grateful for this wonderful time of year to celebrate the birth & life of our Savior. May the Lord bless you this Christmas season & in the coming year.

Love,                                                                                                                                                                                                 Jeff,  Megan, Wrigley & Morley

Christmas Day 2012

Melinda made a funny comment on Christmas morning that the girls are going to think every time they wake up now, they are going to get to open a bunch of presents!

My poor little Wrigley woke up Christmas morning with a little fever. She just wanted to be held and cuddled. I gave her some ibuprofen and by the time we started opening presents she seemed to be feeling much better.
Jonathan was coming over to open presents with us so we decided to have breakfast first since we were waiting for him. Mckay and Danielle made a delicious breakfast for everyone!

Out of all the presents, the girls noticed these little ducks first and were so happy!

We opened stockings first.

Wrigley's facial expressions always crack me up :)

They got a couple Disney movies in their stockings and even though they didn't really know what they were, they were so excited!

After we finished stockings we started opening gifts.
The girls are very slow at opening presents. They open one and want to play with it and forget all about the rest of them. So funny.

I think this might have been their favorite gift. They kept coming back to it in between opening other presents.

My mom put together these cute "church bags" for the girls!

"Chapabip" (chapstick) is the girls favorite thing on earth right now. Melinda put some on top of each of their gifts and they were so happy! They had to try out each kind!

After we finished opening presents the girls had so much fun playing with all their new toys!

They got to be Maggie's first customers trying out her new foot bath.

We got to talk to Marshall on the phone later which was fun! Morley was asleep when he called but Wrigley, who was refusing to nap, got to talk to him.

Later on, after we had dinner with my family, we drove up to Sandy to see Jeff's grandma who was in town visiting another grandson and his family.
The girls wanted nothing to do with her at first but after a little while they were happy to play with her!

We had a very good day!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas Eve 2012

Jeff and I decided that this year we were going to kind of have 2 Christmases. We didn't want to haul all the gifts from Jeff's family to my parents' house so we decided to open everything from them on Christmas Eve.
While the girls were napping I brought all the gifts upstairs and set them up under/around the tree.

After I set them all up I had to run a quick last minute errand. This was what the weather looked like.
I love when it snows on Christmas!

When I got back, the girls were awake. I told Jeff if they woke up while I was gone to keep them in their room until I got home :) They were so excited when they came out and saw all the presents!
I tried to get a picture of them with the presents but they were too excited to hold still!

So we just let them tear into the presents.

I bet you can't guess what this one is ;)

The aftermath.
We were all spoiled.

These dolls were the first thing they opened and they forgot about the rest of the gifts. All they wanted was to take them out of the boxes and play with them. We had to hide them to get them to open the rest of their presents.

We were spending the night at my parents' house so we headed over there.
The girls always love "helping" Grandma with the dishes.

Before the girls went to bed we did our annual Christmas socks picture. We didn't end up finding small enough socks for the girls this year so they just wore big ones for the pictures :)
