Happy Valentine's Day!

I LOVE Valentine's Day!
Really I just love all holidays. I love having something to celebrate!
I'm so excited to be able to do fun holiday activities with the twins!
I had fun making these Valentine treats this weekend.
The white ones didn't turn out so cute but I still had fun making them.
Jeff had a basketball game tonight so we don't get to have our Valentine's date until tomorrow night.
But my mom brought a pretty red rose to me at work!

I have the cutest mom! :)

Picture of the Day

I saw this idea on a friends blog & want to try it out.
She started at the beginning of the year taking a picture each day to blog about.
I think it sounds like a fun idea & a good way to keep up on blogging about the things we are doing.
I can't promise I will be great at it, but I will REALLY try!!
So day 1!
Maggie painted this picture for us.
Don't you love how they have different colored hair?!
I think she's more excited about the twins than anyone! ;)

Baby Shower

Last Saturday Caitlin, Brittany & Joy threw me a baby shower!
Isn't this the cutest invitation you've ever seen?!
I'm in love with it! :)

(front)

(back)

Right when you walked in the door, there was a candy bar with pink
Starbursts,
Sweet Tarts,
Sour Patch Watermelons
& some other yummy candy with little bags for everyone to take some home with them.
Also on that table was a guessing game. There were 3 little jars with stuff in them & whoever guessed closest to the right amount won a prize.
(I wish I had a picture of the table, but I didn't get one.)

Caitlin thinks it's so funny that wherever we go people always ask me the same questions over & over! So she came up with a brilliant idea!
These were on the front table also so that I wouldn't have to answer the same questions a million times!

And I got lots of great advice! :)

Here is the food table.
We had chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, salad, crackers & dip and some yummy cupcakes!

We played a Memory game with all things "baby" related. When you got a match you won a prize that corresponded to the match you got.
For example, the prize for "umbilical cord" was Twizzlers Pull n' Peel.
It was such a cute game!

I wish I had gotten pictures with everyone who came.
I should have been more on top of that.

Present time!!

Jeff's aunt Claire made these way cute quilts for the twins.
She has made a quilt for every one of the Sonnenberg great-grandchildren. That's 49 so far!
I absolutely love them!!

My friend, Cassie made this awesome diaper cake!
It had lots of goodies in it like lotion, baby powder, baby oil, wash rags, bottles, binkis, bibs & more that I can't remember right this second!

Everyone was so nice & we got some really great things!

Joy, Caitlin & me.
I'm sad we didn't get a picture before Brittany left :(
They went to so much work to put this together for me & I am so grateful for all they did!! It was perfect!

We feel so so grateful for all the love & support from our friends & family!
These are two lucky little girls! :) We can't wait to meet them!

31 Weeks

Better late than never right?
Our computer hasn't been working for a couple weeks & that is why I am so behind.
We really haven't been up to much lately. Jeff's been sick for almost 2 weeks now and just kept getting worse. So we finally went to the doctor today & they gave him 2 prescriptions & want him to take 2 over the counter medications also. So hopefully he will be feeling much better in the next few days.
We had 2 baby appointments last week. The OB appointment was first & I am measuring at 34 cm & have gained a total of 30 pounds! I've heard the end of the pregnancy is when the most weight is gained, so I'm a little afraid! ;) Dr. Cherrington said that if everything keeps going as well as it is now, we will plan to schedule a C-Section for March 22nd! That's 6 weeks from today!! Can you believe that?! I can't! It has really gone by so fast!
We had an ultrasound at the Perinatologist on Wednesday & they say everything is still looking great! They measured the babies & Baby A is weighing in at 3 lbs. 2 oz. Baby B weighs 3 lbs. 14 oz. I was a little worried that there is such a difference in their weight, but the doctor assured us there is nothing to worry about. She said it's normal for them to be 2 to 3 weeks apart in size & our girls aren't even a week apart. They are both head down still & I am feeling all 4 little feet in my ribs a lot these days. We got a couple pictures of them, but no profiles this time.
We got an arm,
a foot,
and the tops of both little heads.

We start our weekly non-stress tests tomorrow where they will monitor the babies heart rates & contractions. Hopefully everything still looks good!

11 Lessons to Prepare You for Parenting

My aunt sent me this & I thought it was funny :)

Lesson 1

1. Go to the grocery store.

2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.

3. Go home.

4. Pick up the paper.

5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2

Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who

already are parents and berate them about their...

1. Methods of discipline.

2. Lack of patience.

3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.

4. Allowing their children to run wild.

5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's

breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and

overall behavior.

Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have

all the answers.

Lesson 3

A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...

1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living

room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12

pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound)

playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)

2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and

go to sleep.

3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag,

until 1AM.

4. Set the alarm for 3AM.

5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and

watch an infomercial.

6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.

7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.

8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.

9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work

hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful

and together.

Lesson 4

Can you stand the mess children make? To find out...

1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.

2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there

all summer.

3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.

4. Then rub them on the clean walls.

5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.

6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How

does that look?

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.

1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.

2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms

hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6

Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave

it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look

like that.

1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.

2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.

3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the

back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with

your foot.

4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can

find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent

choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely

take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the

goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys.

Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having

children.

Lesson 8

1. Hollow out a melon.

2. Make a small hole in the side.

3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.

4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the

swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.

5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.

6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9

Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney,

Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but

PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know,

you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10

Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly.

(Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy';

occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required).

Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years.

You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11

Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else

continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while

playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready

to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the

room.

What did I get myself into??? ;)

27 Weeks

We had another ultrasound with the Perinatologist on Tuesday.
She said everything looks PERFECT!! And there is not one thing to worry about!
From our very first ultrasound both babies have been measuring a little behind where they should be but they are finally catching up! They are only 4 & 6 days behind now! :)
Baby A weighs 1 lb. 15 oz. now & Baby B weighs 2 lbs. 3 oz.
They're getting so big! ;) I love hearing how much they've grown!
Here our some pictures of our cute girls at 27 weeks.
Baby A finally let us see her face!
And her long skinny little feet! :)

Baby B's profile & you can see her little leg squished up on top of her stomach.
I know this says it is Baby A's foot again but it's really not. She just forgot to change it to B.

We had an OB appointment on Wednesday.
I had to drink this nastiness before going in so they could test my hemoglobin & glucose levels & test for Gestational Diabetes.

My hemoglobin level was good & Dr. C said my glucose level was "really great". He seemed pretty surprised about that....I'm not really sure why. But it's good news! No Gestational Diabetes!
I gained 3 pounds in the last 4 weeks & am now measuring at 32 cm.
We don't have another OB or Ultrasound appointment for 4 weeks, which is going to be so weird. I don't think there's been a 4 week period this whole pregnancy where we haven't been to one doctor or another. But after our next 2 appointments we start having OB appointments every 2 weeks & non-stress tests every week, so I guess we should try & enjoy this little break! ;)

Happy Baby Year!!

Is it really already 2011??
Our babies are going to be here this year! Yay! :)

We had no big plans for New Year's Eve this year, so we ended up going over to hang out at my parents house.
Mckay & Marsh were both out with friends, but everyone ended up back home by midnight. Marsh brought 2 friends & 2 of my cousins back with him & we had fun hanging out with all of them.
Most of the night was spent playing Dance Two on the Wii!
We even got my parents to play! :) (This was before everyone came over.)
My dad took our phones away before they started so we couldn't record it. But after they started dancing, we sent Maggie upstairs to get the camera.

Don't tell them I put this on here!! :)

To be fair I will put up a video of Melinda & me too.

I love how Maggie is in the back doing it with us!
Funnest game EVER!

My family was so nice & came over on New Year's day to "help us" paint the baby room!
By "help us" I mean they did it all. My mom didn't want me in there breathing in the paint fumes.
But I had it all taped up & ready to go before they got there so I felt like I helped too! :)

I love how it turned out & will post pictures when I get everything all set up!

We hope everyone had a great New Year's!
We are so excited for this new year & all that it has in store for us!! :)
