Circus Fun

Mike invited us to go to the circus at UVU last week. Nate, Caitlin & the boys came too & we had a blast!

I wasn't sure how the girls would react with it being dark & so loud but they loved it. They were kind of in awe, I think.

Saxon & Bridger shared some cotton candy with the girls :)

Wrigley LOVED it. Morley, not so much.

During the intermission we had fun watching the pony rides...

and we even got to have our picture taken with a bear!

We didn't make it very far into the second half because it was almost 10:00 and the girls were getting a little restless. They fell right to sleep in the car & didn't even wake up while I was changing them to put them in bed. :)

Some Randoms

The girls have 4 teeth each now! Both of them had their 4th tooth cut through like 2 weeks ago. They're just so dang cute! Having all these teeth is making them not look like my little babies anymore. They're just so grown up :(

Wrigley loves ears. She plays with her own ears when she is eating and when she is going to sleep. It's so funny. If I'm trying to get her to go to sleep and she's being real wiggly and restless, I'll start rubbing her ear and she becomes completely still and relaxed.

Morley likes having her ears rubbed also but she never plays with her own ears. We have church at 11:00 now, which is so hard! They girls usually go down for a nap around 10:30 or 11 so it just messes up their schedule. They don't usually fall asleep at church so they don't get a nap until after 2! But a couple times I have put Morley on my lap with her bink and rubbed her ear and she went right to sleep :)

A favorite at our house these days is being chased. I'll crawl after the girls on my hands and knees and they will crawl away as fast as their little bodies can go, giggling all the way! :)

The girls & I go to a Playgroup on Tuesday mornings with some people in our ward. We actually have it at the house of a lady who isn't in our ward though. She's in our stake. Anyway, she has a little girl who is 2 or 3 and she is the oldest child at the playgroup. She's always taking toys from the littler kids. It makes me crazy & her mom rarely does anything about it. Well this last Tuesday she came over to where my girls were playing with a puzzle. Our puzzle. That we brought. She started putting the puzzle pieces in and the babies took them back out. Because that's how they do puzzles. The little girl got mad and was pushing their hands away. I told her it was their puzzle and she could play with it if she shared with them. She said, "No! My puzzle!" Then she pushed Morley over. Morley eventually gave up and moved on to another toy but my stubborn little Wrigley did not. Her hand kept getting pushed away but she would try again & again. Finally she got so frustrated that she hit the little girl! Right in the face! Where do they learn this stuff? It must be a natural instinct or something. Anyway, I tried real hard not to laugh. It was so unexpected and I was kind of shocked. And secretly maybe a little bit proud of her for standing up for herself. But I know that's not the way to go about things so I told her we don't hit and finally the little girl's mom stepped in and told her she couldn't play with the puzzle unless she was going to share.

Wrigley is obsessed with this baby doll. She gives her loves & points to her nose all day long!

Morley uses everything as a phone lately! Funniest thing ever. She picks things up and puts them up to her ear and starts jabbering away. But if I put a real phone up to her ear and she hears someone talking on the other end she won't make a sound.

I just remembered another thing that happened at playgroup this week. One of the other moms there was giving the kids crackers and Wrigley saw & just stood up and walked right over to her to get the cracker. She took like 7 steps right in a row! Before that she had only ever taken 3 steps in a row. It was insane! It's like she sees all these other kids that are her size walking around and is like, "Oh, I got this!" I tried to get her to do it again that night to show Jeff but she wouldn't. Only when she wants to I guess.

Morley has gotten kind of aggressive lately. The girls have started "fighting" over toys the last few weeks and Morley is showing us her feisty side. If Wrigley tries taking something from her, she holds on as tight as she can and screams at the top of her lungs. If she tries to take something from Wrigs and Wrigs won't let her have it, she screams at the top of her lungs. Fun stuff.

I'm not sure if Morley knows how to take her bink out of her mouth. If I give the girls a snack and she has her bink in, she will just play with the food until I take the bink out for her. :)

For some reason whenever I am feeding the girls, Wrigley likes to reach over and stick her finger in Morley's mouth. She has done this for a while but just the last few days has gotten bit every time she does it. You'd think she would learn after the first 2 or 3 times. But, no. Still does it. And each time she gives Morley the dirtiest look like, "What did you just do?"

Ever since the girls' top teeth have come in, they both grind their teeth together all day long. It makes me so crazy!! I don't know how to get them to stop.

Today the girls & I were going a little stir crazy being stuck in the house so we decided to get bundled up and go for a walk. My first idea was to go to the park and swing but it was raining a little bit when we went out so we just walked. It was nice to be outside. And it wasn't super cold. I mean, it was raining. In January.

Melinda gave the girls bubble bath & some new bath toys for Christmas! They are so fascinated by the bubbles and love to eat them!

This occurs pretty much every time we change diapers. It keeps them from playing in the dirty diaper, so I let them do it.

From really young these girls have loved books! I love to read so it makes me happy how much they love it too! :)

These girls keep us busy busy busy! But we wouldn't have it any other way. They are so much fun & make us laugh on a daily basis with the things they come up with!

Temple & More Swimming

Last week in Relief Society there was a sign up sheet going around for a service project the Activity Day girls would be doing the next Saturday (today). Their leaders wanted to teach them how to babysit so they were asking for kids to watch. I didn't sign up. But then last night one of my friends from the ward called & said her & another friend from the ward were going to drop their girls off this morning & go do a session at the temple and asked if I wanted to drop my girls off & go with them. I said yes. Jeff didn't really have anything going on today & could have watched the twins while I went but the Activity Day girls didn't have many kids to watch so I took them over to the church anyway. This was the first time we have left the girls with anyone who isn't family & Jeff was so worried about it all evening :) "Are you sure you don't just want me to watch them?" "Are you sure they're going to be okay?" "They aren't going to know anyone...what if they look around & don't see anyone they know & think we left them there & are never coming back to get them?" It was cute how worried he was about his little girls :)

I dropped them off at 9:00 this morning and told Jeff he could pick them up whenever he wanted. He picked them up at 10:30. The leaders who were supervising said the girls were so good! They had so much fun playing and didn't fuss or get upset at all. And I had such a great time with Lauren & Nicole at the temple! I'm so glad I was able to go. It's always fun to be able to go out with friends and always great to be at the temple.

When Jeff & I first moved into this ward we got put into the nursery right away and then were put straight into primary from there. So the only people we knew in the ward were the ones in primary. When the twins were born we were released from our calling and it felt like we were brand new all over again. There were so many people we didn't know because we never got to go to Sunday School or Priesthood/Relief Society. For so long I felt like I had no friends in the ward. About 6 months ago Lauren and her husband moved into our ward and she happened to sit next to me in Relief Society her first Sunday there. She has a little girl who is 14 months old and our girls always play together/with each others toys at church. A few months later Nicole & her husband moved in with their little girl who is now 13 months old. We started talking when we were both out in the hall with babies at church one Sunday. She started bringing Gabbie to a playgroup we go to on Tuesdays and we have become good friends. I'm so glad these two ladies moved into our ward. We have so much fun together & it's fun to have other people (girls) to talk to who are in the same stage of life as I am and going through the same things.

Nicole & her husband were wanting to take their little Gabbie swimming this afternoon & asked if we wanted to go with them. So we got to go to the Legacy Center again! :)

Swimming at the Legacy Center

Last Saturday we went to the Legacy Center to swim with Nate, Caitlin & the boys and Mike. They have this perfect, shallow little pool for kids and the girls LOVED it! When we first set them down and they realized they could crawl around & splash in the water as much as they wanted they were so excited! I have never seen them so excited. I think there was a smile on Wrigley's face for 10 minutes straight! :)

Morley tried out these little swings and didn't think they were that fun. She just wanted to be free to play in the water.

I'm so sad these pictures didn't turn out very well. I love that look on her face! Pure joy! :)

We had such a fun night! Seeing my girls that happy makes me so happy! I can't wait until we do it again!

Probably 30 seconds after we put the girls in their car seats to go home they were asleep. Swimming is exhausting! We decided since we were in Lehi, to stop by Buffalo Wild Wings where Matthew was camping out for the weekend. Their official opening was on Monday & the first 100 people through the doors won free wings for a year. Matthew and a few of his friends were the 2nd group in line and stayed there from Friday night to Monday! Crazy boys! I guess it was worth it to them....and they got free wings for a year!

Weekend with the family

Jeff went out of town for work the first weekend in January. He was gone Wednesday-Monday. On Friday my mom called and asked if the girls & I wanted to spend the weekend at their house since Jeff was gone. We did! :)

My family had just gotten a new puppy that week & this was the first time we had seen her. The girls were fascinated by her as long as she was far away. If they were on the floor, the puppy got excited and would jump on them & nip at them. They were not fans.

The girls' favorite thing to do at Grandpa & Grandma's lately is empty the DVD shelf.

They do it over & over & over.

On Saturday afternoon I wasn't feeling the greatest so my parents took Morley to Matthew's basketball game & I laid down with Wrigley, who needed a nap!

Morley had a big blowout at the game. Like the biggest blowout ever in her life. My mom brought her home & we put both girls in the bath. The bottom of this tub has little bumps all over so it's not slippery at all. So we bathed them without the bumbos. I've never done that before & they thought it was pretty fun to be able to crawl all around the tub.

On Sunday the girls & I went to nursery with my mom. I understand completely now why they don't normally let 9 month olds go to nursery. ;) There was one little girl in there that loved the babies. LOVED. The rest of the kids did not. They didn't like them at all. They didn't want to share toys with the girls & didn't like them touching their toys or them. My poor babies got pushed over quite a few times. :( I guess we'll wait until they're 18 months for nursery.

And I just have to post this picture because it's the only one I have ever gotten where you can see Wrigley's one little dimple :) Isn't it cute?!

I love having my family so close & that they are always so willing to help out with the babies. It probably helps that they're such cute babies! ;)

This is my friend's baby, Hadley. She's 2 months old. I'm watching her on Mondays while her mommy works.

She is seriously the best baby. The only time she fusses at all is when she is hungry. Really. She just lays there & looks around, happy as can be. My babies never did that. NEVER. They cried for 4 months straight, it felt like ;) It's crazy how you forget so quickly what they were like at that age. Wrigs & Morley were just that little 8 months ago but it seems like they were never that small. I forgot how much they sleep & how often they have to eat. And that that's pretty much all they do! Oh, and poop.

It's funny to see the twins around her. They like her and get excited to see her but they kind of stare at her like, "Why are just sitting there? Why aren't you playing with us?" When she first gets here they pay attention to her but after a few minutes they are bored of it & go about their playing, happy as can be until I pick up Hadley. Then they are hanging on my legs, whining, both wanting me to hold them. Most of the time, they have no problem with me holding the other twin. It's like they know they have to share me with each other but another little person is not okay!

Last week was the first week we watched her. My little Morley was even more clingy to mommy than normal :) Today they seem to be handling it a little bit better so far. They just don't really pay much attention to her.

Hadley likes to sit up on the couch & watch Wrigs & Morley. They are very entertaining :) She even smiles at them when they get close. Until they pull her blanket off & steal her binky.

This makes me feel like I could totally handle another baby right now. But at the same time it makes me not want to have one for a really long time because then I wouldn't be able to give 100% of my attention to the twins and I don't like that.

I just have to say I can't believe it is 2012.

2011 was quite possibly the best year of my life! I became a mom to the 2 most beautiful girls on the planet. Best thing I've ever done :)

We spent New Year's Eve at my parents' house. The Kland family came down from Bountiful to hang out with us. They brought Just Dance 3 with them and we played that for a while. My family got 2 new Wii controllers for Christmas so 4 of us were able to play at the same time. I didn't take any pictures that night but Maggie took this video of my parents and Jonathan & Julie dancing :)

I've never been one to set big New Year's resolutions that I know I won't keep. So this year I decided on just a few things that I want to work on.

1. Cook dinner more often.

2. Keep my house cleaner.

3. Be more organized.

4. Read the Book of Mormon with Jeff.

We are looking forward to all that this new year has in store for us. We hope it is good to all of you! :)

The girls woke up a little before 8:00 on Christmas morning. Jeff & I fed them & changed their diapers before we woke everybody else up.

Santa Came! And he spoiled us all (but mostly Wrigs & Morley).

The girls enjoyed finding out what was in their stockings.

They wanted to play with all of it & would have been happy to have been done right then ;)

They wanted nothing to do with unwrapping the presents. But after they were open they were happy to play with the new toys.

They got TONS of new books! Which is great because they love books!

Christmas with kids is so much more fun! I had presents for me piling up because I was having so much fun opening the girls' gifts & seeing the excitement on their little faces when they saw what was inside. And I know it's just going to get better & better as they get older & understand more what is going on :)

My mom got my dad an iPad 2 for Christmas. We all knew about it and were so excited to see him open it. He had no idea & it was fun to see the look on his face when he opened it. He was very excited :)

I didn't get any pictures of any of the gifts that I got but I got a lot of fun things. Socks, a gift certificate for a massage, a few new shirts & jackets and a necklace from the babies :) Oh and all 4 seasons of PRISON BREAK!! :)

Jeff & I didn't buy each other gifts this year because we are buying ourselves a bed! I'm very excited! :)

The aftermath....

My dad made us a yummy breakfast. Orange rolls, eggs, sausage & orange juice.

Then we put the girls down for a nap and got ready for church.

I thought it was great that Christmas was on a Sunday this year. We got to have our more "worldly" Christmas & open gifts in the morning & then were able to go to church and have our more "Spiritual" Christmas & worship Christ, who is the reason we celebrate Christmas after all. The program in Sacrament Meeting was mostly music, which I love. I, personally, feel the Spirit so strongly through music. I thought it was a beautiful program and very perfect for the day. It was fun to be at church with my whole family and kind of nice to have so many more sets of hands to keep the babies entertained so I was able to actually get a little bit more out of Sacrament Meeting :)

After we got home from church Marsh called! It was so fun to talk to him for a while! We tried to get the babies to talk to him because sometimes they will talk to my mom on the phone, but they wouldn't. :(

Hopefully next time he gets to call they will.

After we talked to Marsh, we headed over to Nate & Caitlin's to exchange gifts with them & visit for a little bit. Then we went back to my parents' house for dinner.We had steak and potatoes.

Then we opened a few of the girls' new toys and let them play with them :)

They didn't quite understand how to push this toy around, they just wanted to play with the toys on the front. They are pros at pushing it around and walking behind it now, though :)

After we put the babies to bed we played some new games my family got for the Wii. They also got 2 new controllers so 4 of us could play at once.

Jeff had to work the next day so he went home and the girls and I stayed overnight again.

One of Mckay's friends came over and we played a couple more new games (Buzzword & Things) until after midnight! The next morning when I had to get up with the girls, I regretted that decision ;)

We had such a great Christmas, spending time with family & friends and reflecting on the birth of our Savior. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well :)

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a pretty relaxing day. It was fun that it fell on a Saturday so Jeff didn't have to work!

Jeff has been getting up with the girls on Saturday mornings so that I can sleep in a little bit. On Christmas Eve I slept until 10:00! I was shocked when I woke up & it was that late. And I kind of felt bad for sleeping so long but it sure felt so good!

My mom called a little bit after I woke up & wanted the girls & I to go with her to visit the Carters. After that we stopped at Target to pick up a few last minute things. That was crazy.

When we got home the babies took a nap while Jeff & I got things ready to go to my parents' house. We had to take both cars over there to be able to fit everything. Both cars were packed.

We had dinner at my parents' & then just relaxed with the family while the girls played & wore themselves out.

My mom has a Christmas tradition that I love & am going to start with the girls next year! She wraps 25 Christmas books at the beginning of December & then they (just her and Maggie now) unwrap one & read it each night.

The babies got to read this one with them.

I love how much these girls love books!

We read Luke 2, watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas & took pictures of our Christmas socks before the babies went to bed.

Remember how last year I was saying there would be 4 more little feet in our Christmas sock picture next year? I swear that was just a couple months ago. Time flies, people. Flies!

After the girls went to bed Jeff & Matthew brought in the presents from the cars & we got them set up around the tree. Then Jeff went to bed & I stayed up & helped my mom & dad wrap presents while watching Alvin & the Chipmunks on TV! :)

Around midnight, my mom said she could finish up & sent me to bed!

Christmas Week

The week before Christmas was busy busy busy for us. We had something going on every night, which meant the girls were up late every night. Poor things. Their schedules are still not back to normal.

One of my good friends from high school got married and we were able to attend his reception. I hated all the drama with my girl friends in high school so a lot of the time I hung out with guys. These were some of my best friends.

Durrell (the one who got married) was too busy to be in our picture.

It was so fun to see them all and hear about what's going on in all their lives. It was the first time a couple of them had met the girls and it was fun to show them off. :)

On Tuesday the girls & I spent the day at Caitlin's house baking Christmas goodies with her & Joy! The girls had fun playing with the boys and all their fun toys! I think Dalton was a little confused why they were playing with all his stuff!

We made chocolate cake mix cookies with mint M&M's, brown sugar & maple cookies, Oreo truffles, english toffee & soft gingerbread cookies.

While we were making plates for neighbors & friends, Wrigs was sitting on my lap & grabbed an Oreo Truffle before I could stop her. She squeezed it so I just let her have it. I think it was the best day of her life.

When Morley woke up from her nap I gave her one too :)

We went to a 3 Christmas parties & I didn't take any pictures :(

We had fun delivering Christmas goodies & visiting with friends. One night we went to Justin & Michonne's house for dinner.

Wrigley was giving "loves" all night :)

Wrigley loves electronics. If we have the laptop on while she is awake she will do anything in her power to get to it & pound on the keys. So Mike gave us an old keyboard for the girls to play with.

When Jeff is using the laptop he gives her the keyboard to distract her. It works for about a minute but she's not fooled....she knows it's not the same & she wants the laptop!

She also loves cell phones & Ipads. While we were at Justin & Michonne's, their little boy, Bryson, was playing on the Ipad. Wrigley saw him & wanted to play too.

You can tell by Bryson's face how happy he was to have her there. ;)

We went to Jonathan & Julie's house on Friday night for a little family Christmas party. We ate too much & played lots of fun games! Ryan kept asking to hold the babies. They are almost as big as he is.
Such a little dude :)

Jeff & I and the girls drove out to Spanish Fork one night to drive through the Festival of Lights.
We took the girls out of their carseats so they could see the lights out the windows. They thought it was pretty fun!

9 Months

We had the twins' 9 month check up last week.

Wrigley's stats...

Weight: 18lbs. 7oz. (42nd percentile)

Height: 29 inches (95th percentile)

Head: 17 inches (22nd percentile)

Morley's stats...

Weight: 17lbs. 2oz. (17th percentile)

Height: 28.5 inches (90th percentile)

Head: 16.75 inches (10th percentile)

Doctor says they are doing great. He couldn't believe how mobile they are already. They were all over that office ;)

We didn't have to get any shots this time which I was so happy about. But they had to prick the girls' toes to do some blood work. Neither of them even cried. They just watched very intently and then were fascinated by the bandaids.

Some fun facts about the twins at 9 months:

*They both clap when anyone says, "Yay!"

*They both wave bye-bye. Morley waves like she's in a parade. :) She is all girl!

*Morley LOVES anything sparkly or shiny. Her favorite thing in the world is jewelry. Any kind of jewelry.

*Wrigley dances anytime music comes on. The girls & I have had quite a few Christmas music dance parties this month. ;) Morley never dances with us but she sings right along with the music!

*Morley is still very vocal. She always has something to say. She says, "Dada", "Mama", "Hi" & "Yay". She is still a screamer and is always experimenting to see how loud she can possibly be.

*Wrigley has taken a few steps. She is always standing these days. She doesn't even use things to pull herself up much anymore, she just stands right up. Expect a "Wrigley is walking" post in the next week or so. ;) Morley hasn't taken any steps yet, but is very sturdy on her feet so it won't be long I'm sure.

*Both girls have two bottom teeth. Wrigley's both cut through the first week of November. You never would have known it....she was as happy as can be all week. Yesterday, they both had a top front tooth cut through and Morley's second top one is close also.

*They both try to copy things Jeff & I say or do or faces we make. It is my favorite thing they do lately. It makes me laugh every time.

*Wrigley plays peek-a-boo! It is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life! She will pull the blanket up over her face and wait until we say, "Where's Wrigs?" and then pull it down and giggle when we say, "Peek-a-Boo!"

*I've been teaching them where their noses are and now they point to everyone & everything's nose. In books, real people, toys....everything!

*They LOVE to read books!

*Bath time is their favorite time of day. As soon as they hear the water turn on they both stop whatever they are doing & crawl as fast as they can toward the bathroom.

*Morley is very social. She will talk to & smile at anyone as long as someone she knows is holding her.

*They are both pretty good sleepers. Morley takes awesome naps but doesn't always do so well at night. I usually have to get up and give her a bink or cover her back up once or twice a night. She WILL NOT stay under her covers. She doesn't like to have her hands covered up at all. If I cover them, they are back out within 5 seconds. Wrigley has been sleeping through the night consistently for about a month now.

*They are both good eaters and will eat anything we give them.

*Wrigley is constantly saying, "ooooohhhh". She makes a little O shape with her mouth when she does it. Sometimes she even whispers it. So funny. She also says, "Hi" and tries to say "dog". When we ask her where the doggie is, she says, "duh".

*Morley has this fake laugh that she does and it's the funniest thing ever!

*Wrigley still loves Morley more than anything on the earth. Morley still doesn't love the attention from Wrigley. They are in this phase of pounding on things when they get excited. Wrigley gets excited to see Morley and starts pounding on her. You can guess why Morley isn't a big fan of this. They do play together pretty well for the most part though. They follow each other around all day long.

Wrigley & Morley are two very different little people but Jeff & I love them both so much & feel so blessed to have them in our family. We are having so much fun being their parents and watching them learn & discover new things every day.

Twins' First Car

The girls got an early Christmas present today from Jeff's boss.

They had a great time building it with daddy.

When Wrigley found out the car plays music, she was one excited little girl!

We let them sit in it for a few minutes before we put them to bed but the battery has to charge so they don't know yet that it moves! It's remote controlled but it also has a foot pedal so when they're older they can drive it themselves. They were so excited, which makes me so excited for them to see all the rest of their new toys on Christmas morning! :)

Morley's Binks

Neither of the girls have ever been huge binki suckers. They were more when they were tiny but it's always been mostly when they are going to sleep.

The gumdrop binks have always been their favorite. We have tried lots of different kinds but have always come back to these.

They always liked to play with the other kinds though so I put them in with their toys.

A couple days ago Morley found one in the toys & put it in her mouth. She has been sucking on it ever since.

Even in the bath.

Then she found some other binks & decided it didn't have to be just that one. So I find her sucking on different binks all day long.

The little goof cracks me up. :)

P.S. She stands all on her own now!

28 years!

This is a picture of my parents on their wedding day. 28 years ago today.

These are the two greatest people I know.

I'm so grateful that they decided to get married 28 years ago so that they could be my parents! :)

Seriously though, they are amazing.

I don't think a child can really know or understand how much their parents love them until they have children of their own. I definitely had no idea. It's an indescribable kind of love.

I'm realizing more & more (since having the twins) how much my parents have done for me (and still do for my little family) & sacrificed for me throughout my life. From the sleepless nights & diaper changes to the rebellious teenage years. I'm grateful for it all. I'm grateful for the things they taught me. I'm grateful there were always consequences to my actions, even though they weren't appreciated at the time...I'm understanding now more & more why they did the things they did. And it was always because they loved me and wanted what was best for me. I'm grateful for their unconditional love. Never once in my life have I ever doubted that they loved me. I'm grateful for their example throughout my life. They've always taught me how important it was to be Christlike but even more than that, they've showed me in the way they live their lives.

I love my mom & dad more than words can say and feel so blessed that they are mine.

Oh Christmas Tree

We finally got a Christmas tree on Saturday! It's a real one :) I love that I get to smell pine now every time I walk through the door. It smells like Christmas :)

I was worried about the girls not leaving the tree alone but we haven't had any problems with it. They both touched it when we first set it up & didn't like the feel of it on their hands so have pretty much left it alone since. We have pulled a few pine needles out of two little mouths though. I just end up vacuuming 4-5 times a week now instead of the usual 3!
They occasionally will play with the Santa ornaments but I'm okay with that. They can't really hurt them.

They were so helpful putting the ornaments on the tree.

I was letting them play with them/suck on them until Wrigley decided to start pounding on the rest of them with the one in her hand. It shattered and then Jeff was put on baby duty while I finished up.

I let them help me put their very first ornaments (from Grandma Maria) on the tree :)

We went to Jeff's grandparents' house for dinner on Sunday & they gave us these Santa ornaments & some cute chocolate ornaments to add to our tree.

We added a fun new Christmas decoration to our collection this year.

It's the Little People Nativity Set.

We set it up on the bottom shelf of our bookcase & the girls love it.

I always set it back up when they are sleeping and it's the first place they go when they wake up. :)

Festival of Trees

We got to go to the Festival of Trees last week with my family & the Klands.

Jeff & I have been to the Festival of Trees together every year since before we were even dating. This was the 5th or 6th year that we have gone together. We even went last year even though it was miserable for me to walk around for that long. I insisted. I was so excited to be able to bring the girls with us this year & keep the tradition alive. I knew they would love seeing the trees all lit up! We went on Thursday night, hoping to avoid the crowds since it wasn't the weekend but it was still crazy crowded.

We had to skip a few aisles because of a poop explosion all over Wrigley & her clothes. Poor girl had diarrhea for over a week.

We cleaned her up, put her pajamas on & caught up with the rest of the group.

My favorite tree this year was this Minnie Mouse one.

Okay, it was probably this amazingly cute bed that was my favorite! Love.

Morley gives "loves" to everyone. It's the sweetest thing. :)

The girls are so great when we take them anywhere. I love it. They are definitely not homebodies. They love to be out & about. No matter where we go, they are happy. They are both very curious & always looking around, taking everything in.

We didn't get to see all the gingerbread houses this year but we did see this cute Tangled one on the way out.

P.S. We ran into Mike, Nate & Caitlin and the boys while we were there. It was so random. We had no idea they were going to be there.

Temple Square Lights

Last week Melinda's choir was singing at Temple Square. It was a good excuse for us to go up there to hear her sing and then walk around and look at the lights.

Melinda's choir sounded great. Wrigley was dancing & clapping the whole time :)

We bundled the girls up in the stroller & they didn't move the whole time. Seriously. When it's super cold and we wrap them up, they are still as can be. So funny.

They were pretty much in awe of all the lights. They just stared.

Temple Square is always gorgeous but at Christmas time it's even more incredible. Going up to see the lights is one of my favorite things to do around the holidays.

It was weird being there without any snow on the ground. We've had hardly any snow this year, so far.

I took about 3,000 pictures of the girls that night. I just couldn't get over how cute they looked in their little snowsuits!

They both crashed on the way home.

Thanksgiving 2011

I love Thanksgiving!

What holiday don't I love though?

I love Thanksgiving Break. Not that it really applies to me anymore....I work all holidays now! :) But I love that my siblings and mom have days off so we get to go play with them!

On Wednesday my mom dropped Maggie off at my house in the morning & took Melinda, Matthew & Mckay to volunteer at the food bank. When they got back we went to McDonald's for lunch and then went to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. I don't know who put Wrigley in the stroller (it very easily could have been me) but for some reason she didn't get buckled in. We were walking around a store and had stopped to look at something & I turned back to see Wrigs sliding out the bottom of her seat. She had turned herself around and slid down into the basket underneath!

She was pretty proud of herself that she figured out how to escape!

While we were walking through the mall we saw Santa! And not one person was in line to sit on his lap so we decided to see if we could get a picture of the girls on his lap.

Wrigley looked from Morley, to me, to Santa & then decided this was not okay.

Morley didn't seem to mind until Wrigley started complaining. Then she started whimpering a little.

He was such a sweet Santa. He talked to them and smiled at them and tried his hardest to make them feel comfortable. And do you want to know what? He was the real thing. I'm sure of it.

Thanksgiving day was very relaxing. Jeff got up with the girls and let me sleep in. I can't even tell you how good it felt. When I got up we hung out, watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, & played with the two cutest babies alive. After we got ready and the girls took a nap we headed up to my parents' house.

My dad and Maggie were putting Christmas lights on the house when we got there. My mom was cooking, of course. She had most of the food done, but I helped with what she had left.

We had Melinda take a family picture of us while the girls were still clean & still had their headbands on. We had already lost the shoes.

Maggie & I were in charge of setting the table.

I think Thanksgiving is the girls' favorite holiday so far. They love to eat so why wouldn't it be?

Mmmmm....the food was delicious! My mom is an amazing cook!

When it got dark we went outside to see the lights.

Then my mom & I planned out our Black Friday shopping strategy. The stores started opening at 10pm this year. I decided I kind of like that better than getting up super early to go.

Jeff & I took the girls home and put them to bed and then I went back to my parents' house to get Melinda & my mom. We started at Wal Mart where we got a bunch of movies. $2 movies are one of our favorite things about Black Friday! We got in line quick and were out of Wal Mart by 10:15. We basically rock. We drove right over to Kohl's, who opened at midnight, and got in line outside. Surprisingly, it wasn't too cold this year. Not as cold as last year & we were in Fresno last year! I just realized I never posted about our Thanksgiving in Fresno last year.....weird.

Anyway, we made friends with the people in line next to us and had fun talking and laughing with them. We were pretty close to the front of the line, so we got in the store quick, got everything we wanted & jumped in line. It worked out perfectly.

I always have so much fun with my mom & crazy sister ;)

Friday was a super fun day also. Jeff had to go into work for a little bit so the girls & I went to the mall with my family again.

It was so crowded. So. Crowded. Morley's face says it all.

After the mall we met the boys at the bowling alley.

I lost. Even Maggie beat me.

In my defense, she used bumpers. I didn't.

Later that night, after the girls were in bed, I went to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 with my mom, Melinda & two of her friends. It was pretty good. Mostly fun to be out with the girls. But I did like it better than the other movies. I liked the books so much and I usually end up disappointed when I see the movies so I don't know why I keep going to see them. I just hate the people they picked for the movies. Mostly Edward.

That's a straw in my mom's mouth.

I really don't know why.....

I love holidays. I love celebrating with family. Fun weekend.

Spray Tanning Party

A couple days before Thanksgiving, Caitlin had a spray tanning party for her birthday. I had never had a spray tan before & I was so excited to get one!

The rules for the party were.....

1. No makeup

2. No deodorant or lotion

3. Wear sweats

There was a tent set up in Caitlin's bathroom where we got sprayed and it took about 15-20 minutes per person. During everyone else's turns the rest of us had fun chatting and eating snacks :)

It was so fun to get out of the house & have a girls' night and talk with other 'adult girls' ;)

I did miss my babies though!

I was a little worried about looking orange, but I didn't! Just tan :)

The only make-up I wore for the next few days was mascara, which is weird for me because usually my face looks so gross without make-up. My skin looked perfect and I loved it!

I left the girls with Jeff and when I got home after 9:00 they were still up. I was glad I was home to say goodnight & put them to bed, but being up so late made for very cranky babies the next day. :(

Halloween & Visitors

My mom bought the girls the CUTEST Halloween costumes & I was so excited to dress them up!

Scott & Jill flew out to visit over Halloween weekend, which made the celebrations even more fun!

They got in on Saturday afternoon and came to our ward Halloween party with us that evening.

Aren't they the cutest ladybug & kitten you've ever seen?!

There were so many people at our ward party. Like so many I had never even seen before. It was weird. There weren't even enough places for people to sit & eat. Tons of people were sitting on the floor.

We had chili & cornbread for dinner. Except there wasn't enough chili either so we all just had a taste & got pizza after the party.

We took the girls trick-or-treating to the classrooms around the church, which they loved, of course.

On our way out they had a photo booth set up, so we had a family picture taken.

Don't let their faces fool you...they were so excited to be dressed up & go trick-or-treating. ;)

On Sunday evening we headed up to Salt Lake to have dinner at Grandpa & Grandma Sonnenberg's house.

Claire & Terry came over after dinner to see Scott & Jill and it was actually the first time they had seen the twins. It was fun to visit with everyone.

Jill brought the cutest Halloween shirts with her for the girls to wear on Monday.

Remember when the babies used to sit still while I took a picture of them? Yeah.....they don't do that anymore. It takes at least 20 tries to get one good picture.

Jeff was able to get off work a little early on Monday and we all went to Tucanos for dinner.

These two little ladies sure enjoyed themselves.

I realized while we were at Tucanos that Morley's 2nd tooth had cut through!

We had told Maggie she could go trick-or-treating with the girls, so later in the evening we went out to Lehi to trick-or-treat.

The girls didn't last too long. We probably visited 5ish houses before they were tired of it.

We went back to my parents' house and they had fun helping Maggie sort through her candy.

Scott & Jill had to fly home Tuesday afternoon.

The girls & I drove them up to Salt Lake & we all had lunch with Grandpa & Grandma Sonnenberg before they had to head to the airport.

We love when Grandpa Scott & Grandma Jill get to come visit. We wish they weren't so far away so we could see them more. It was a fun weekend that went by way too fast.

Melinda is 18

Well she's actually been 18 for over a month. I'm just behind, as usual.

Melinda's birthday was on October 25th. The girls and I headed to my parents' house around noon and got to have lunch with Melinda and two of her friends. That's one perk to being a stay-at-home Mom. When I was working, I always missed out on fun "during the day" activities. After lunch, we took Melinda shopping. She wanted some new jeans so we headed out to find some. My mom kept Morley and we took Wrigley. In the afternoon Melinda had a choir rehearsal so while she was there, the girls and I went to Target with my mom & Maggie to do some more shopping.

After shopping, the girls and I ran home to pick up Jeff and then met everyone at Brick Oven for dinner.

We had our own little room at Brick Oven, which was nice so we could party as hard as we wanted without disturbing anyone else. ;)

Let the Memories Begin!

I was so excited to take the babies to Disneyland for the first time! Yes, I know they won't remember it and didn't even know what was going on but I was still excited because Disneyland is one of my very favorite places! I just wish Jeff could have come with us because it would have been his first time also! But he was in Chicago working.

My parents decided it would be fun to take the family to Disneyland before Marsh left. And oh it was fun!! So fun.

We left here on a Friday evening. The girls were such big helpers loading up the car! ;)

It was freezing outside so I warmed Miss Wrigs up in my jacket.

Melinda was sitting behind the girls and I in the Suburban and was hiding behind the seat and then jumping up and saying "BOO!" Morley thought it was the funniest thing ever.

There's nothing better than the sound of a laughing baby!

We drove to Mesquite and stayed the night there Friday night and then drove to the Las Vegas Temple in the morning to attend Heather's wedding. I had never been to that Temple before so I was excited to see it. I loved the palm trees surrounding it. So pretty!

The sealing was so neat. I absolutely love going to Temple weddings. Each one is so unique. The things said by the Sealer are always thought provoking and always a great reminder of the covenants made on my own wedding day. Heather looked gorgeous of course and I was glad we were able to be there.

After the sealing we went and had lunch and then drove the rest of the way to Anaheim. We made it to our hotel around 6 pm Saturday night. We ordered pizza for dinner and then when the babies were in bed my parents stayed with them while the rest of us went down to the pool. I wasn't really in a swimming mood plus it was a little chilly outside so Melinda and I squeezed into the hot tub while they boys swam in the pool. There were a couple of families in the hot tub with lots of little kids and another family in the pool. We discovered when they were all leaving that all of us were from Utah. Funny :)

Sunday we actually got to sleep in a little bit. The babies and I had our own little room off the main room at our hotel and there were no windows in our room. It was so dark that they had no idea what time it was, which meant they slept later. So nice.

I took these pictures the day we were leaving, so that's why the room is such a mess.

Over to the right we had our own little bathroom also.

While we were all getting ready on Sunday morning my dad left to go find a Church for us to go to. The only two he found that we would make it to (at 1:00) were a Tongan ward and a single's ward. So we had our own little Sunday School lesson and then went to the Sacrament Meeting at the single's ward. That was fun. I forgot how silent single's wards are. Every time the babies made any little peep people were turning around and looking at us.

After church we took naps while the babies were napping and then drove to Newport Beach. It was the perfect night to be at the beach! The weather was great and we were there as the sun was setting. Just a gorgeous night!

There were these cute rental properties all along the beach and we had fun talking about what it would be like to rent one someday.

We could see Catalina Island out on the Horizon.

The water was really cold and Morley was not happy when we put her feet in. Which actually surprised me because she's usually the one who loves the water no matter what. Just wasn't in the mood I guess. Wrigley, on the other hand, was loving it. This was the first time she had ever felt sand on her feet and she was very fascinated by it.

As it got darker it got a little cold.

These little birds were so funny to watch. They kept running to the edge of the water and then running away.

As we were leaving the beach we decided since we were in the area, to drive to see the Newport Beach Temple. My phone was dead so I didn't take any pictures, but it was beautiful! We walked all around the grounds and it was all so pretty. What Temple isn't though, right?

Monday.

DISNEYLAND day #1!

We walked from our hotel and got to the park right about 8:00am when the park opened.

The park was all decorated for Halloween!

Loved it!

We took turns all day staying with the babies while everyone else went on rides. We discovered that each ride had a "stroller pass" which was for whoever stayed off the ride with young kids. They (and one other person) could use the stroller pass to skip the lines and get right on the ride. So everyone was able to go on all the same rides, just at separate times. It actually worked out really well. And I didn't feel so bad making someone miss a ride to stay with the girls.

We went on rides all morning. We took the girls with us on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride. You ride around in a little car and shoot your laser gun at the targets, trying to get the highest score. I thought they would be fine but they both freaked out! I forgot how dark it was in there. And it was pretty loud so I think that scared them. I felt bad. We didn't take them on anymore rides the rest of the morning.

When we were sitting down to eat lunch, we saw Ariel come out to take pictures. Morley was asleep but Wrigley wasn't, so we took her over there for a picture. She was so fascinated by her. She didn't take her eyes off her face (or maybe her hair). We tried and tried to get her to look at my mom and the camera. No luck.

After lunch, Matthew & I stayed with the girl while everyone else went on the Haunted Mansion ride. He and I used the stroller pass to go on it and then met up with the rest of the family at Star Tours.

Then we split up and my mom and I took the girls to Fantasy Land to go on Small World.

We were so excited to take them on this one because we knew for sure it was one they would love. While we were waiting in line, Wrigley fell asleep on my shoulder. She woke up right as the ride was ending. :(

At least Morley enjoyed watching all the singing and dancing dolls.

After Small World, we left Disneyland and went over to California Adventure to meet up with the rest of the family. They had gotten fast passes for all of us to go on Toy Story Mania. It's another one kind of like the Buzz Lightyear ride but it's not dark and not so scary so we took the girls again. Wrigley didn't mind it but Morley freaked out again.

So we went on the Carousel right outside the Toy Story ride as soon as we got off. They liked that one a lot. :)

When we were walking over to Toy Story, we saw Mickey Mouse and there was like no line to get a picture taken with him so we stopped for a picture.

I was curious to see how the babies would react to the characters. They were very fascinated. Not scared at all.

We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at California Adventure. When it got dark we got to watch the World of Color show! There are no words. It was incredible! As soon as the show was over we went back over to Disneyland because they were open until midnight that night. The babies were asleep in the stroller so we walked around and did some shopping. Around 11:00 my mom, Melinda & I decided to walk back to the hotel while everyone else went on some more rides.

It was such a long walk home. Much longer than the walk there ;)

We were so tired and our feet hurt so bad. Melinda & I were laughing at everything. Every time we passed a hotel she kept saying, "If we had stayed at this hotel, we could be in bed by now."

Tuesday we did it all over again!

We started off the day in California Adventure. We went on Toy Story again, the Ferris Wheel, Little Mermaid, Soaring Over California and Tower of Terror. And then got ice cream cones :)

We had fast passes and a stroller pass for Tower of Terror so we went on it a few times in a row. While the boys and Maggie were on it Melinda, my mom, the girls & I watched the Monsters Inc. show. We were hoping to be able to take pictures with the characters after the show but they wouldn't let us. So we found other places to take some pictures.

For lunch we left the park and walked right across the street to IHOP.

We gave the girls each a saltine cracker at IHOP and it kept them busy for quite a long time.

Walking to and from IHOP, Marsh was "ghosting" people. :)

Ghosting: basically copying exactly the movements of another person. Usually a stranger.

I had never seen him do this before but he had told me about it.

So funny.

Maybe not that funny to you, watching this, but if you had been there you would have thought it was funny. I promise.

Whenever we were walking to another ride or something, Mckay would try to get girls walking the other way to give him a high five. So he'd just put his hand up when they were about to walk past him. Some gave him five, some didn't. It was funny to walk behind him and watch the expressions on the girls' faces. Some would laugh. Some looked at him like he was crazy. Some were just surprised. A few seemed disgusted.

We did some more shopping that afternoon and then Melinda, the twins & I sat down on the curb on Main Street to watch the parade, while everybody else was off doing other things. We were lucky we found a spot to sit right in the front. We sat there for probably 30-45 minutes before the parade started. People were saving seats long before that.There was a little girl sitting next to us with her Grandma and she loved the babies. She was talking to them and making them smile & laugh. It was so cute.

I thought the girls would love the parade. They have speakers all over to play music during the parade and it was really loud! So at first they were a little worried but not for long. They really enjoyed watching all the characters sing and dance around. And I loved it too! :)

After the parade Melinda & I used a stroller pass to go on Space Mountain and left the babies with Mckay, Marshall & Matthew. I guess Morley was not happy at all that I left her. She cried the whole time and then as soon as I took her back, she stopped.

Disneyland was closing early that day for Mickey's Halloween Party.

We finally got a picture in front of Mickey on the way out.

Then we went over to California Adventure until they closed at 8:00.

After they closed we did some shopping at Downtown Disney and then went back to the hotel.

The next day we drove back to Utah. It was a long drive. The babies still did well but it was much easier on the way there, with the drive being broken up and not all at once.

We had so so so much fun!

I'm so glad I have such good little travelers or we wouldn't be able to go on all these fun adventures.

Oh! I almost forgot....the babies souvenirs! :)

Firsts

My baby girls are 7 months old and getting cuter by the day.

They are so much fun right now! I know I've said it before but it is so fun to watch them discover new things.

We have had quite a few firsts around here lately. Some good and some not so good.
A few weeks ago Wrigley decided she was a big girl now and started pulling herself up on things. The first time she did it I was shocked! She wasn't even 7 months old...she's not supposed to be doing this yet!

She's a very observant little thing and I think she thinks she can do whatever she sees everyone else doing. She definitely thinks she's bigger than she is. :) At first, she would fall every time because she wasn't sturdy enough to stay standing and I don't think she understood she was supposed to keep herself standing. But she is catching on. She keeps herself up pretty good now and is pretty good at catching herself if she is going to fall. She also walks along the couch. She has also let go of the couch a few times and turned like she was just going to up and walk away, but of course fell on her face.There's no stopping this girl. I don't know if it's because she's doing this or what, but she seems so grown up to me lately...more like a little girl than a baby. I sure do love my crazy, active little Wrigley. She keeps us on our toes and we never know what she is going to try next.

Morley has been watching Wrigley and in the last week is pulling herself up on things also. She's not real sturdy yet though. I'm afraid they are both going to be walking pretty early.

Another first we've had recently is a first tooth! Last week Morley's first tooth popped through. I could see it underneath her gums Wednesday night before we went to bed. We had an extremely rough night and in the morning, we had a tooth! So sometime during the night it came through...which explains the crazy, sleepless night. It is the bottom, left, front tooth. She doesn't like to let anyone see it. The few times I've seen it is when she is crying and she moves her tongue out of the way. It is so cute and I can't wait until I can get a picture of it! :)

The girls took their first trip to DISNEYLAND two weeks ago!! Oh it was a blast! There will be a whole post dedicated to that very soon.

We have an official crawler now! Wrigley actually crawls on her hands and knees. She isn't very quick yet and it's kind of funny to watch but she's figuring it out. :) Morley still army crawls. She's experimented on her hands and knees but seems to prefer army crawling. It's much quicker! ;)

We've had a lot of firsts when it comes to baby food. Trying new things all the time. They both love eating baby food and have liked pretty much everything we have given them. There has only been one thing that Wrigley didn't like...green beans. They made her gag, but she kept opening her mouth for me to give her more. :) Morley liked them. She likes everything we have tried.

Morley kept trying to get to me. She's still such a Momma's girl and seemed very confused why daddy was feeding them. :)

The not so good first....

Morley got her first big ouchy yesterday. :( It still makes me so sad.

I was in the kitchen getting some bottles ready and Jeff was in the living room with the girls. I heard a crash and figured one of them had pulled themselves up on something and fallen...it happens quite often...but then I heard Morley start screaming. So I ran in there right as Jeff was picking her up. He lifted her up and there was blood pouring down her face. I ran to the bathroom to get some tissues and Jeff brought her in there. I put pressure on her head where the blood was coming from until it stopped bleeding. I had no idea what had happened or how bad it was. I asked Jeff what happened and he told me the cord from my pump was hanging down off the couch and she had pulled it and the plug (one of those big, heavy, black, square ones) had fallen and landed (prongs down) on her head. When it stopped bleeding, we could see the 2 marks where the prongs landed and one had split open her head. I felt so horrible. I left the cord hanging off the couch. They don't usually get over to that side of the couch and so I never even thought about putting it up. I felt so stupid and like a horrible mom. It's my fault that my baby got hurt and I hate that. :(

I was so worried that it could have done some damage because it's so heavy and landed right on the top of her head. She cried for a little while and then started acting completely normal like her happy little self and that made me feel a lot better.

These pictures are from last night. You can see in the bottom one where it's starting to bruise on the top of her head. Today it is pretty bruised but doesn't seem to be bothering her unless she accidentally bumps it on something while she's crawling around. Poor little thing. I still feel so horrible. :(

I really can't believe how fast my babies are growing up. It has been such a fun & crazy journey. I look forward to every day with them. They make life so amazing!

My husband is an old man! ;)

We were out of town on Jeff's birthday so we didn't celebrate until the next Sunday.

We got together with Mike, Nate & Caitlin at my parents house to open presents and have cake.

I made Jeff's favorite cake!

Bridger wanted to help Jeff open his presents. It was so funny because I think he got confused a few times whose presents they were. :) When Jeff opened his McDonald's gift card Bridger said, "Oh! Maybe we better go to McDonald's!" He kept us all laughing!

Jeff isn't a big fan of people buying him presents or celebrating his birthday, but he got some fun gifts that I think he liked. I really hope he had a good day!

25 on the 25th

I had such a fun birthday weekend this year!

Mckay gave Jeff and I his tickets to the BYU game that Friday night because one of his friend's was getting married so he wasn't going to be able to go to the game.

My parents watched the girls for us and it was a super fun date night! It was a gorgeous night! Perfect night for a football game!

And BYU won!! Wooo!!

Saturday was a busy day. I had two baby showers to go to that were at the exact same time. They were both from 1-3. How does that even happen? I took Wrigley with me and made it to both of them for a little bit while Jeff took Morley with him to run some errands. It's amazing how much easier it is to go places with just one baby!

After I was done at the showers we met Mike, Jeff, Morley, Marsh & Melinda at Tucano's for a birthday dinner! :)

We gave the girls each a roll to chew on which they were totally thrilled about!

My grandparents sent me some Baskin Robbins gift certificates for my birthday so later that night Jeff, the girls & I went to get some ice cream. We took it home to eat it because they girls were ready for bed. I ate about 4 or 5 bites of mine and realized how full I still was from Tucano's, so I saved the rest for another night. :)

Sunday was my actual birthday and a party at my parents house.

My mom bought the girls these toys to be kept at her house for them to play with when we are over. It's so fun to see how excited they get over toys they have never seen before. Their eyes get real big and they can't seem to get to the toy fast enough. It's cute.

Here We Go Again

Marshall was able to go back to Oregon yesterday to finish out his mission.

We went to my parents house on Monday night to be there when he got set apart.

While the Stake President was setting him apart I was sitting on the couch and Wrigley was standing on the floor in front of me. Towards the end of the prayer she looked over at Marsh and laughed. Who knows why....everyone had their eyes closed. It was dang funny, though. That girl cracks me up.

In the above picture, she was too interested in Grandma's hair to look at the camera. She kept pulling it. :)

Marshall's plane was leaving at 11:00 on Tuesday morning. The kids all had school so they said their goodbyes before school. Mckay, the twins and I went with my parents to take him to the airport.

Burger King

We stopped at Burger King on the way home from one of Jeff's softball games a few weeks ago.

It was the first time I had put the girls in a high chair so it must be documented! :)

These chairs were nasty! I scrubbed them down with like 10 wipes before I let the girls near them....yes, I am that mom.

Dalton's Birthday

At the beginning of September we were invited to Dalton's first birthday party.

It was at the park by their house and the girls loved being outside and playing on the grass.

This has nothing to do with the party, but I wanted to post about it.

When Morley woke up the morning after the party, I noticed a red mark on her arm. I thought it was just from sleeping on it but it didn't go away.

Throughout the day I noticed more and more red spots and they started looking like hives.

They kept spreading up her legs and arms and on her face.

I had given them bananas for the first time that morning and I wondered if she was allergic to them.

It was a Saturday so I called the urgent care at our Doctor's office just to see what they thought I should do. They asked me some questions and told me to give her some children's Benadryl and take her in on Monday if it had gotten any worse.

Sunday morning she looked a lot worse so I kept her home from church. I felt so bad, but it didn't seem to bother her at all.

When she woke up Monday morning she looked better but throughout the day they started coming back. So I called the Doctor and they said to bring her in.

He looked at her and said it was a viral infection. He said he actually sees a lot of it in small kids this time of year. I told him about the bananas and that I thought she might be allergic to them and he said with food allergies the hives would appear mostly on the stomach and back. She had none on her stomach or back. Anyway he said it would just have to run its course and to let him know if it got any worse.

The hives were completely gone the next day. And Wrigley never caught the virus, thank goodness.

This is also completely unrelated but that same day, Jeff put Wrigley's headband on her....

The highest pitch scream I've ever heard. She screams when she's happy. She screams when she's mad. She screams when she's excited. Funniest thing ever.

She smiles at anyone and everyone wherever we go! Everyone falls in love with her. We've been told multiple times how her smile lights up the room! It definitely makes my day better every time I see it. She's such a happy little thing and that's one of my favorite things about her!

This little girl is definitely a mommy's girl! I'm not complaining :) It makes me feel good that she loves me so much!

Baths, swimming pools, rain, showers. She loves it all.

It's funny how she knows the difference between adults and little kids. She definitely prefers kids. She LOVES to watch them play.

She army crawls and she's really quick! It wouldn't surprise me if she starts crawling before Wrigley.

Okay, so she probably doesn't dislike Wrigley but she definitely is scared of her. She whines/fusses anytime Wrigley gets near her. She's learned that when Wrigley is near she's going to get attacked! ;)

She has so many more important things to do to take time to eat. Seriously. It takes like years to get her through a bottle.

~Being left alone in a room.

If she can't see anyone, she freaks out.
If I lay her in her crib alone she cries. As soon as I lay Wrigley next to her she calms down and goes to sleep. (The only time she likes Wrigley ;) It's really sweet.

I swear she never holds still except when she is sleeping. It's pretty exhausting to hold her. Her new thing is to try and climb up whoever is holding her. She can get pretty much anywhere she wants to go by rolling and scooting around on her stomach. She is so close to crawling. She gets up on her hands and knees but hasn't quite figured out how to get anywhere yet, which is okay with me. I'm not ready for her to crawl yet!

Seriously. Morley is her favorite toy. She just loves her so much, but she doesn't understand how to be soft so usually ends up hurting her.

She has discovered feet lately and wants to eat any feet she sees. Her own, Morley's, mine, Jeff's. It grosses me out a little. :) She always holds onto both of her feet while she is eating. So funny!

~Being outside.

~Animals.

I think she is going to be like her daddy. She loves my parents dog. She will sit and watch him for as long as she can see him.

She also loves to watch Gordon roam around in our backyard.

Dislikes:

~Riding in the car.

~Not being able to do something she wants to do.

This is one determined little girl. If she wants to do something, she will try and try and try until she figures it out. She gets so frustrated, but she keeps trying. I hope she always keeps this trait.

~Sleeping.

She basically thinks sleeping is a waste of time. She will fight it and fight it and fight it until it's not physically possible to keep her eyes open any longer.

I'm tired of being so behind so I'm making one post of everything we did in August so I can be all caught up.

At the beginning of August the girls and I went to Fresno with my mom, Melinda, Matthew & Maggie.

My grandparents hadn't seen the babies yet and they aren't able to travel right now so my mom and I decided we would take the babies to them!

We left in the afternoon and drove to St. George. We had dinner there and did some shopping for a few hours.

Morley found herself some sweet shades! :)

We left St. George as it was getting dark and the babies went right to sleep.

Wrigley woke up around 10 and decided it was time to play. We stopped at a gas station and let her get out of her car seat for a little bit. And she took a turn driving ;)

I don't know what the fascination is but all little kids seem to want to feed them :)

The day we left Amy texted me and said Aly and Jacob were pretending they were Wrigley and Morley and that Amy was me! :)

Then a few days later Aly asked Amy if she could wrap her up like a burrito like "Megan does to her babies."

Then a few days ago Amy messaged me on Facebook and said,

"Aly and Jacob were playing with Aly's dolls this morning and guess what the dolls names were? I think they love those babies of yours!!"

I love how much those sweet kids love the twins! I just wish we lived closer to them. They would grow up being such good friends!

We spent as much time as we could at Seven Peaks in August because our passes were expiring at the end of the month.

Our Pass of all Passes also got us into all the Orem Owlz home games. So we went to a few of those this month also.

One night we went was the perfect game to go to. It looked like it for sure was going to rain but the dark clouds went the other way and it ended up being a perfect summer night! I think everyone else thought it was going to rain too because there was hardly anyone at the game.

The babies were so good at the game, even though they stayed up way past bedtime.

They LOVE to be outside and there was so much to look at that they were happy as could be.

Caitlin asked Jeff to do a little reptile show for Saxon's 5th birthday party!

All the kids loved it! I think their favorite part was feeding Gordon.

Since the lake house was sold in Chicago, Jeff's parents don't have much use for their boat right now so a friend of theirs who was driving out here brought the boat to us to use!

We've taken it out twice and have had so much fun!

We took my family out on Utah Lake one Saturday.

Maggie gave it a shot, but ran out of time because we had to go pick Marshall up at the marina.

We left the twins with my parents and took Melinda and a couple of her friends out the next Saturday and had a blast!

We joined my family one day on a little trip to Park City to do some school shopping.

We also have taken a lot of evening walks this summer which I am going to miss so much when it gets cold.

Lots of times we have walked over to Macey's to get ice cream cones.

July was a busy month! So much fun!

*We were invited to Bridger's 3rd birthday party. It was a swimming party! We took the girls in the pool and they loved it. Especially Morley. She's a little fish!

The girls were awake for the beginning and thought the fireworks were pretty dang exciting.

It was a really cool park. There were water toys and fountains for the kids to play in and a normal playground for Matthew and I to play on ;)

Helpers

Back in May Jeff & I left the babies with my parents overnight to go away for our anniversary.
When we got back my mom said, "I don't know how you ever get anything done! I'm going to come over once a week and help you clean your house or whatever you need."
I love my mommy! :)
Since the kids have been out of school she usually brings Matthew and Maggie with her.
It's so nice to have some help, but it's also nice to have real people to talk to during the day! ;)

Chicago 2011: Everything Else

Ruby

Last night I read Ruby's story. (find it here)
My heart aches for her family.
Don't read it if you don't want to cry your eyes out.
Little Ruby was 7 months old. She passed away last week from liver failure. She had a disease called Caroli's Disease/Syndrome. She was on the transplant list for months. They didn't find a match in time and her little body just couldn't fight anymore.
Last night I cried and cried for Ruby's mom....I don't even know her but I can't imagine having to watch your baby suffer like that.
Last night I went into my babies' room and stared at them while they slept.

Today I wanted to hold them all day long.
Today I kissed them a few more times.
Today I told them how much I loved them a few more times.
Today I played with them on the floor.
Today I got to see their sweet smiles.
Today I held them close and didn't want to ever let go.
Today I gave them a bath.
Today I heard them laugh.
Today I took them for walk.
Today I had little conversations with them, and wondered what they were trying to say back.
Today I fed them and changed their diapers.
Today I watched them sleep.
Today I rocked them and sang to them.

I get to do these things everyday.

Today I didn't take them for granted.
Today I didn't get one thing done.
But today, I don't care.

Today my heart still hurts for little Ruby's family.
But today I am grateful for the reminder of what is important in life.
Starting today I hope I can be better about not taking these little moments for granted. Life is short and you never know when it might be the last time you get to tell someone how much they mean to you.
Starting today I want to enjoy the little moments more. I want to stop stressing about the laundry or the dishes not getting done.
Starting today I want to enjoy this time of my life instead of always looking forward to what comes next. Time passes so quickly and my girls are growing up so fast. I don't want to look back and have regrets. Or feel that I missed out on this time of their lives because I was busy worrying about other things. They are only little once and I want to soak up every second of them while I still can.
Who cares if my house isn't perfectly clean all the time? What does it matter if the dishes sit in the sink a little longer?

Those things aren't really important. My #1 priority is my family. I am so blessed to have them. Being a mom is the best job I've ever had.

Even when we have rough days, I hope I can remember how lucky and truly blessed I am.

Chicago 2011: Fourth of July

The 4th of July has always been my very favorite holiday!

I was so excited to celebrate the twins' first 4th of July.

Jeff's extended family all get together at the lake house for the 4th.

We spend the day playing in the water, out on the boat and there's always tons of food!

The girls were pretty good all day, which was a little surprising since the only naps they got that day were short ones outside here and there.

Jeff's cousin, Heather (who actually lives in Sandy) and her family were in Chicago over the 4th also. We took a picture of her little girl, Abby, with the twins. She is about 2 months older than them.

We tried and tried to get the twins to smile but no luck. Sweet little Abby smiled for every picture. :)

We get SO many compliments on these gorgeous big blue eyes!

Later that night when everyone had gone home except Scott & Lisa and Jeff's parents, we built a fire, roasted marshmallows and had s'mores. Then it was time for the firework show! There is a guy across the lake who puts on an awesome show every year! We usually go out on the boat and watch them from the middle of the lake, which is really cool because they are right above us. This year the babies were asleep so Jeff & I stayed at the house and watched the fireworks from the back deck. It's a little bit different show not being out on the boat, but still awesome! There were a few that literally shook the house. I was afraid they were going to wake the babies up, but they slept right through.

It was a very fun and relaxing day!

Chicago 2011: The Lake House

We had so much fun at the lake house this year.
Mike and Jeff & I and the girls were the only ones staying there this year, which was kind of weird. But kind of cool.
Like I said before, this wasn't as relaxing of a vacation as years past. No sleeping in for poor daddy ;) I don't think he loved being up so early with the girls.

It was fun to have the twins there with us though.
The weather was perfect the whole 2 weeks! I guess it had been pretty cold and rainy before we got there, but it was super hot while we were there.
The lake water was cold when we first got there but it warmed up real fast with how hot it was. The girls weren't big fans of the water at first because it was cold but liked it more as it got warmer.

Bruce and Tiffany's kids love to play baseball on the lawn. One day Jeff & Matt got in on a game with Carter & Lauren.

Jeff & I weren't able to spend as much time on the boat this year as we usually do, but Scott & Jill volunteered to watch the girls so we were able to go out and ski a few times.

This swing was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. The babies had a hard time napping while we were there. I think there was just too much going on all the time and with them not being at home, they just didn't sleep well during the day. The two best naps they had were at Johnny K's. Jeff and I went there for lunch and they fell asleep in the car and slept through lunch and stayed asleep for a couple more hours in their car seats when we got back to the house.

When they were grumpy and wouldn't go to sleep, we took them to the swing. Worked every time.

We're so glad we were able to spend the time we did at the lake house this year. We found out a few weeks ago it was our last summer there. The lake house was sold and we are so bummed about it. Jeff has spent summers at the lake since he was a little boy. I obviously haven't been around that long but I have been able to spend a few weeks there each summer for the last 4 years and I feel lucky to have been able to spend that time there with Jeff's family. It was always a blast and I have many great memories there!
