Go Cubbies!

I'm late on posting this, but we went to a baseball game with Mike, Caitlin & Nate a couple weeks ago. Salt Lake Bees vs. Iowa Cubs. Cubs won 12 to 3!

Saxon aka the tiger, had fun running up the hill and "attacking" me. Such a funny kid!

He was also keeping an eye out for the bee and finally spotted him all the way across the stadium. He took this picture...pretty good shot!

Thanks Mike!

Honeymoon in Vegas

We went to Las Vegas on our Honeymoon. We stayed in the Sahara hotel. It was around 100 degrees everyday. We spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool and met some very interesting/entertaining people out there. 2 guys wearing bikinis...need I say more?

We walked up and down the strip, went to M&M World, visited some little shops, & did lots of people watching!

We of course had to hit up Buffalo Wild Wings while we were there. Jeff's friend & his wife live in Vegas, so they met us there for dinner.

We had a blast!

Present time

Sunday afternoon we went over to my parents house to open our presents before we headed off to Vegas. Jeff thought it was weird that my family gets together and all wanted to be there when we opened the presents. That's how we have done it at every wedding. We just enjoy being together.
We got some REALLY nice gifts! Everything we got are things that we will actually use. And we only got doubles of 2 things I think. One, a blender...which we will be keeping both of, because I have a history of breaking my mom's blenders ;/ I love to make smoothies, so they will be used a lot! We also got quite a few gift cards which will be fun to use!

We got a cake plate, which upside down Jeff thought was a chip and dip platter :) Such a goof!

Monopoly & Yahtzee. Awesome gift!

Benjamin loved the wrapping paper & bows.

I think Jeff's falling asleep.

The audience.

Sorry so many pictures, but we got so many great things! Thank you to everyone for your kindness & generosity in helping to get us started on this new journey together. We love all of you!

Armstrong Mansion

Here are the pictures of the Armstrong Mansion, where we stayed on our wedding night. My sister had my camera to take pictures at the reception, so we had to stop and get a disposable one. This is why the pictures inside didn't turn out so good. But I hope you can kinda see them.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. There was great service. When we arrived Saturday night the girl was like, "you guys must be so tired and hungry, let me bring something to your room". So she brought up some crackers and fruit and toast. They also had a great breakfast in the morning. I am hoping to be able to go back there someday.

Wedding Day

Saturday, May 9th, 2009, we were sealed for time & all eternity in the Manti temple. It was such a beautiful day. I had been so worried about the weather, but it couldn't have been better. Around 70 degrees and sunshine all day! Why Manti? Really the only reason was that I love that temple! It might have made the day a little more stressful, but I wouldn't change it. We want to thank everyone who made the trip down there to be at our sealing.

Jeff's grandpa is a sealer in the Salt Lake temple and we were able to get permission from the first presidency for him to perform our sealing. During the sealing he read this poem to us,

Because you come to me with naught save love
And hold my hand and lift mine eyes above
A wider world of hope and joy I see
Because you come to me

Because you speak to me in accents sweet
I find the roses waking 'round my feet
And I am led through tears and joy to thee
Because you speak to me

Because God made thee mine, I'll cherish thee
Through light and darkness through all time to be
And pray His love may make our love divine
Because God made thee mine.

I've never been to other sealings, and I'm sure they are all so great. But to be able to have someone who knows us both and means so much to us perform our sealing was such a special experience, and something I will always cherish. (Thanks Julie for finding the poem!)

After we took lots of pictures, we had a luncheon at a park not far from the temple. We didn't want a super fancy luncheon anyways, but there weren't a lot of options around Manti. And we didn't want to make everyone wait an hour and a half to eat when we got back into Provo. We thought about having a dinner the night before, but ended up up choosing kind of a picnic at the park. I thought it worked out really well. It was nice to be able to visit with everyone and enjoy each others company. And the kids loved the playground.
We got home around 4:30 and had to get everyone ready to be at the reception center by 6 to take more pictures. (We were late). The reception was at Somewhere Inn Time in Lindon. We were able to get a few pictures outside before the reception started at 7.

I'll post more when I get them from the photographer. The reception was a blast! I wish there had been more time to be able to sit down and talk to everyone who came to see us.

The day went by way too quickly. Its crazy how many months you spend preparing for this one day, and then it is over and gone so fast! There were so many times during the day I wanted time to just slow down so I could look around and remember every little detail.
When it was time to leave we went out and found our car decorated so pretty! Thanks guys!

Mike & Nate & Caitlin surprised us...well surprised me, Jeff already knew...and got us a room in the Armstrong Mansion for that night. Caitlin also put together the cutest "wedding night basket" to take with us. In it there was bubble bath, massage oil, sparkling cider and glasses, and some other fun things. There is nowhere I else I would have wanted spend my wedding night. One of the coolest places I've ever stayed! There was a spiral staircase in our room that went up to a huge jetted tub. I'll post pictures later. Thank you so much Mike, Caitlin & Nate!
It was a totally perfect day! There is not one thing I would change. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed that it's over. But I'm so grateful for the help and support of our family and friends, and for the memories we will have forever :)

Wedding Week

The week of the wedding was a crazy busy, but fun week! I want to remember every single detail of it. May 1st we were able to start moving stuff into our new place. The renters before didn't leave it very clean so we spent a few days cleaning first. Here are some pictures of it with hardly anything moved in.
I'll post more pictures when we get it painted and everything all set up.

Early Thursday morning family started arriving from California. It meant so much to me that they were all here for me. We spent Thursday doing some last minute wedding preparation. We also got our nails done and pedicures.

More family arrived Thursday afternoon just in time to help set up for Marshall's eagle court of honor. He was the first young man ever in our ward to earn his eagle. What a cool accomplishment and great example to the other young men in the ward.

There was even a live eagle presentation!

Way to go Marsh. I'm so proud of you!

Friday was also a busy day, finishing up some last minute things, like picking up my dress and the tuxes, etc. Jeff spent the evening with his family and I went up to Bountiful with my family for a bbq at Jonathan & Julie's. It was a perfect way to spend the evening, relaxing and having a good time with my family.

We're so grateful for the love and support from our family on our special day!
